So I’m writing to you from the middle of your second year at University. I have got the task to write myself a letter to the past.
That’s an exciting thing to do so I will try.
Last year I’ve chose Game Design as my specialisation.
Honestly, I’ve been bad at it and initially wanted to do art. But I knew – if I’m not going to try it then – I will never push myself to learn it. So I did.
I can tell that it’s going to be hard for you, but you will never regret it.
My advice is:
Planning is the key. Push yourself to submit at least one brief in two weeks. Never leave it for the last moment. PLEASE.
Choose all three briefs at the beginning of the module and keep them in mind. It’s ok if you will change your mind later, but you might find a solution on how to do them early.
Start with the complicated briefs. Not with the hardest, but the ones that can challenge you. By doing this, you will get a lot of experience from the start, and it would be easy for you to deal with the remaining briefs later.
Don’t try to be the bestofthebestofthebest. Please don’t plan to make all the briefs, better make the essential three, but make them polished.
Try to enjoy the process, even if it’s hard sometimes. If you feel frustrated – don’t hesitate to ask for help or go for the next brief.
Never regret the time that was lost – it’s all is a part of the learning process.
