It was the first time when beside me there were another six artists in the team (out of 9 people).
And it was the first time when I was producing mostly 3D assets.
And it was an unexpected game jam which was two weeks long (Usually we're doing the 1week long).
So, it was indeed a splendid and unique experience.
My team was exceptional. Super talented, very creative, very openminded and sweet.
The topic of this Game Jam was the "Round Trip". Each team received a location to go, and we've got the small town Akureyri in Iceland!
After brainstorming, we've decided to create something calm, joyful and tranquil. We ended up with the idea of making the photography walking educational game, where you play as a tourist, which has to find and learn fascinating details about some of the main attractions.
It was the first project without any mood boards, deadlines, small key dates or spreadsheets. Somehow we just understood and felt each other, somehow each of us knew what to do, how to do it. So, even though there were so many artists, the game's art style looks very balanced and attractive.
The game leaves a beautiful feeling, and the music creates a mysterious and curious atmosphere.
Here are some work I've done for this game:
NPC models
Boats
HOF Building and the dock
Logo & Main Menu BG
ICELANDIC HORSES!
Here are some screenshots from the game, but please, try and play it -> here
I can't believe it was my last game jam at university. The time too quickly passes and I am thankful for every little moment I've lived during this game jam.
