Weekend Logos

This weekend was quite busy for me. I closed four different logo projects for four different clients from four various industries. To be more specific, the companies were:

I) Elite Equestrian Club

II) Cosmetology Brand

III) Interior Design Studio

IV) Automotive Market

It was a quite funny experience, as it was for the first time in my career to work with so many different areas at the same time. I thought it would be nice to share the process in this blog.

1) Automotive Market - "Quasar Autoparts"

My client wanted something masculine, professional and minimal.

He mostly wanted to create a unique font, which will be the central part of the logo.

Unfortunately, I don't hold the initial sketches anymore, but my research started with the word "Quasar" itself. And I found out that Quasars are incredibly bright masses of energy and light.

The name quasar is short for quasi-stellar radio source or quasi-stellar object.

Also, Quasars believe in looking about like so:

I think everything started with this picture. I decided it would be a great idea to integrate this cosmic object into the letter "Q".

So after some time, this logo was born:

The client was pleased with this logo.

The letter Q represents not only the Cosmic Quasar but also the wheel of the car.

The font is a variety of modified letters from three other typefaces.

2) Interior Design Studio - "Vector Design"

Actually, it's "Вектор Дизайна". My Russian client preferred to create a logo with a Cyrillic alphabet. I think it was just the third Cyrillic logo in my career, so I was quite happy to try it out again.

After going through the client's brief, I understood that she is looking for something elegant, minimal and expensive looking. Also, she wanted the logo to be feminine and geometric.

I created a mood board for similar logos and worked on a couple on the sketches.

And in the end, we ended up with this logo.

The client loved the fact that it looks more like a signature. And the icon itself creates a perfect harmony with its strict lines and shapes.

3) Cosmetology Brand "Vitalis"

Everything was swift and easy with this logo. This happens, when the clients know for sure what he/she wants and when they have a prepared sketch.

So my client had a prepared idea, I just was her hands.

So quite soon I made this logo. Both typefaces (for the letter V and the "Vitalis") were modified to create something custom. The client was happy, and so was I.

4) Equestrian Team "S.A.Equestrian"

I think this task was one of the hardest this weekend. Because of the two things:

a. It's hard to create an original logo for horse riding team. Especially, if you want to create something not obvious ( like horse on logo)

b. The logo shouldn't be too complicated, as it will be embroidered on the saddle cloths.

My client told me that he would be happy to see something with geometry. Especially with the squares or the triangles.

So I made a lot of sketches (I started with just horses, but mostly just to get into the equestrian mood :) )

So here is before and after result. The client loved it, as it combines several things:

a. There is still a horse in this logo, but not expected and obvious.

b. There is a geometry in this logo.

c. There are letters S.A. are integrated in this logo.

So this was my weekend. That's the best and worst part of being a self-employed designer - You don't have typical weekends, but you also don't have ordinary working weekly hours:~)
